Sebrod Video Compressor

Make a video small enough to send, and see exactly what you’re trading away before you export. Everything runs on your phone.

IN TESTING ON GOOGLE PLAY Ask to try it early

Drag the handle — the same clip, original on the left, compressed on the right, playing in sync.

Quality tab: before/after compare of a mountain video, 23.2 MB down to 2.9 MB, size and frame-rate presets

What it does

Estimates the size as you go

Change the resolution, frame rate or quality and the predicted output size updates immediately. No guessing, no export-and-check.

Compares before you commit

Drag a split across the actual video to see the compressed result next to the original, playing in sync. If it looks fine smaller, go smaller.

Handles a batch

Load several clips at once. Each keeps its own settings, or apply one setup to all of them, then share the whole batch from one results screen.

Never upscales

You only see sizes and frame rates at or below your source. The app won’t quietly make a file bigger and blurrier.

Basic picture adjustments

Brightness and contrast, applied in the same pass so nothing gets re-encoded twice.

Runs on modest phones

A low-memory mode switches on automatically around 4 GB of RAM or less, and is a menu toggle on everything else.

Keeps your files local

Compression happens on the device. Output goes to a SebrodVC folder in Movies, so it shows up in your gallery and file manager.

Tablets too

A layout sized for larger screens, with the same controls.

Where it stands

The app has completed a 14-day closed test with real users and a second testing round across a wider set of devices. Testers called it clear and easy to use; their reports drove fixes for older, low-memory phones.

A public Google Play listing is the next step. To try it before then, write to the support address.
